5 Star Adventure Tours (for 2 or groups)
4WD Tour – Paradise Falls Winter Tour - “For those who like Winter but do not want to romp in the snow…..Following the idyllic rural setting of the Buckland Valley, along the Buckland River and skirting the eastern face of Mt Buffalo, we head off on a famous four wheel drive track – the old cattle run of Goldie’s Spur. Continuing along the rugged southern face of Mt Buffalo (you may see snow along this track) we join up with the picturesque Rose River. Coffee, hot scones, jam and cream are served along its banks. We travel along the Rose River Road until we turn off on to one of the many small tracks to reach the wonder that is Paradise Falls.
350 million years ago a complete river system was swallowed up into the earth’s crust. Eons later, the earth spewed back this whole fault line to form a huge conglomerate of rocks, boulders, caves and valleys. Today we can walk its many twists and turns to experience the grandeur of one of nature’s wonders.
We visit an amphitheater of a cave, see where Peregrine Falcons nest and feel the spray of a waterfall …33 metres high. Follow the steep trail of the second small waterfall walk – the real Jurassic park of North East Victoria.Daniel then takes you to a rocky ridge, overlooking the William Hovell Dam where he sets up your dining table and chairs - with a vista that has to be seen to be believed. You return by 5.00pm back into Bright after a day of natural discovery and sensational four wheel tracks.

Abseiling, rock climbing, caving and history tours
“Abseiling is a user friendly activity that is suitable for most ages and levels of fitness. It is simply a method of descending a cliff by using ropes, harnesses and various devices. Our organisation has been running Recreational Educational and Corporate Abseiling at Mt Buffalo for over 10 Years. The Recreational Abseiling conducted by our organisation has safeguards built in (called Belaying) where our staff can take over control of the descent if the participant has any problems. We also have a coaching rope on all of our smaller abseils (up to 100 metres) and the dispatcher (the person who hooks you on) can even abseil over the edge with you (if necessary) to provide the level of coaching needed.”
Mt Buffalo, a huge granite plateau with almost endless views to the Victorian and NSW alps, rises above the pretty and peaceful Ovens Valley. At 300 metres high, the North Wall of Mt Buffalo Gorge is a major granite feature that’s internationally regarded as an abseiling challenge.
The usual descent is by first abseiling 160 metres on a single rope in an area normally only accessible to skilled rock climbers, down to a large ledge. We then use double rope ‘pull down’ systems to descend a further 3 x 50 metre pitches to the gorge floor, stopping on small ledges. The descent can take up to 3.5 hours dependent on group size, experience and weather. From the bottom of the cliff, we walk to the crystal brook for lunch.
The route back is via a creek crossing, then a climb directly up a steep crevasse to the top of the gorge. Some areas need to be top roped as there is rock climbing involved. In wet weather there is an alternative route back.
